This is how Echt's bread subscriptions work

  • Pick loaf & frequency

    Choose your favourite bread and how often you’d like it—weekly or fortnightly. You can pick from any of my regular loaves, or go wild with the surprise option and I’ll choose something delicious for you.

  • I bake, you relax

    No more forgetting to order—your bread will be automatically prepared and ready for pick-up. I’ll pop you on my list and make sure your loaf is waiting, hassle-free.

  • Easy Payment, VIP Perks

    Once you’ve set it up, your subscription runs automatically—no extra admin needed. You’ll also get first dibs on special bakes like hot cross buns or other limited treats. Welcome to the Echt whānau!

Pickup Locations

You can pick up your order/subscriptions in Timaru on Wednesdays and Geraldine on Thursdays.

  • Timaru

    Wednesday pick up: You can pick up your pre-ordered loaf from Echt at the back porch - 17 Dee Street (behind Catie Rowe Podiarty) between 3.30-6pm.
    Please park on the road.

    Thursday pick up: Pick up is on Thursdays from Cafe Verde between 12.30 and 4pm. You will be able to find your labeled parcel in a sealed box on the veranda.
    Please pay online as pick up is self service.

The Echt Difference

‘Echt’ is a German word that means genuine, real, and authentic, and that’s exactly what our traditional German sourdough is all about.

Every loaf is crafted right here in Timaru using only the purest ingredients: healthy grains, water, salt, and a whole lot of time.

No shortcuts, no additives — just honest bread made the traditional way. When you buy from Echt, you know you’re getting something real, nourishing, and made with care.

About Echt
  • Locally sourced ingredients

    I bake with South Island-grown linseed, grains, and nuts — supporting local farmers and keeping every loaf rooted in the land around us.

  • Pure & simple ingredients

    Just flour, water, salt and time. My sourdough is naturally leavened with wild culture. Free from additives, preservatives, added folic acid or gimmicks. Naturally vegan.

  • Baked in Timaru, by hand

    Every loaf and treat is made and baked fresh in Timaru, using traditional sourdough methods and a whole lot of patience. Real bread, the way it’s meant to be.

Do you do delivery?

No we do pick up only.

Do you bake every day?

My only baking day is on Wednesdays

Do you offer sourdough courses?

Yes. I offer beginners workshops but also will be expanding my workshop range into more advanced topics and gluten free in the future. Have a look here for my current workshop dates Sourdough Workshops – My Store

Do you cater for allergies?

Unfortunately I am unable to guarantee a allergen free environment. But give me a call to discuss your individual need and I can explain more. My Bread is dairy free.
